I was trying to keep our strongest dps from moving. Tony and I eating that damage seems best. I think the damage will be fine, but if we screw up, it's instadeath. Been thinking of it for a while, so just wanted to throw it out there.
Alright, having finally seen Swindler, we need to prepare for this next set of mechanics. Even though it was a short pull, a couple things I noticed:
1) look at the above posts to know where you are going on the ring/orb mechanics. This should be a very easy mechanic to do if everyone knows their spot. There is no RNG here; we either do it or die.
2) VERY interesting thing about the pet! Tank and Merc will be baiting the rings into the same position every time, so let's keep pets out of way.
3) With 3 weakened going into fight, we still did a good amount of damage to Swindler; he seems to be squishy. Let's really push here!
4) Once engaged, we saw "height" mechanic (know this or die!), then it was ring/orb. As soon as orbs exploded, we saw the adds that we'll be LB'ing. This makes it all the more important to keep Merc stationary in the back. Healers go to him so that he can keep casting. Merc, expect the adds right away and have the LB already targetted around that area where all the adds will be. Josh, most likely you'll want to run to me to ensure that they all group up.
For this add part, we want to stun the big gobs so they don't apply buffs (guides usually ask the dps to do this) but was wondering if Josh's Holy would also suffice here… I can pop a CD plus Living Dead to protect myself for first moments, and Merc's LB will be coming fast, but would a Holy or two once they're all together keep them all stunned? DPS be ready to jump on anything that may survive.
After adds (or during adds) there will be another "height" mechanic, so pay attention.
u pull direct north to the door. Right on the center line. Dps behind u on the same line me Hannah and merc be slightly farther back from them. Still the center line. A tank or healer is always gunna get the circle right? So we can't bait them. That being said tanks would always be 1 2 healers are 1 2 merc with healers he is are 3rd/4th if pet does count in a circle. Then ash be 3 for tanks and Ketu 4th. Not sure if those adds will aggro me sol. Last night when they popped I didn't have aggro on them so I'm assuming the won't auto pull to me like pigs do. Even had a med 2 out then. I'm open to holy as long they are within range and stacked quickly.
Making merc third means he has to run to u. Point is to avoid him moving. Whichever healer gets ring, run to him as your second. And we can bait them because Tony and I will have ring in front of boss, and you guys will have ring back behind boss. Same places every time. I won't bring boss all the way to wall because I need room to gather the adds in front of boss. I won't bring him as far as I did yesterday, but close to that spot.
Me and Hannah are essentially gunna be stacked in a line behind the boss close to center ring on the middle line also where merc will be to make moving minimal. However merc being second is gunna make him move more. And with Hannah having a pet we can manage up to 4 with just the 3 of us. What merc said. Lol we discussed it last night how we will manage ares. I think it's gunna work out really well. Also always leaving a dps to "float" if someone forgets or is needed.
There will never be a time when both rings will have 4 orbs, so Ketu should be the 4th, leaving Kahlan to stay full time on boss. Which ever ring has 4 orbs (if either), Ketu goes there.
Personally, I'd avoid counting on the pet as a body. We need a few more pulls to validate that. I think it would be easier to count on Ketu running there.
However, if it IS true that the pet counts, then that's great that we can leave two melee on the boss full time during that mechanic.
